Carolina is 11-3 coming into tonight's game against the New York Giants and is assured to have one of the top records in the conference, regardless of the outcome of their last two games.
However, if Carolina loses their next two games, it is possible for the Atlanta Falcons or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the division. That would place the Carolina Panthers in the fifth or sixth seed in the NFC, forcing the team to travel to either Arizona or Minnesota, assuming Minnesota wins the NFC North division.
A win tonight against the Giants will ensure the Panthers of the NFC South Division title and the number one overall seed in the NFC.
Carolina could win the division before they even take the field tonight. At 1pm today, Atlanta plays Minnesota and Tampa plays San Diego. If both the Falcons and Bucs lose, the Panthers win the NFC South.
