Profile: Ragone has a huge upside - he has very good size and a strong arm. He has very good zip on the deep out and has good touch throwing deep balls. He is an accurate passer that has the ability to read defense well. He is a very good leader and will get into teammates faces if they are not playing to the level that he expects them to. He has a good feel for the pocket and can move around. He will not beat teams by running the football, but he can escape and move around in the pocket when he needs to. He is not very mobile but makes up for it with his size which makes him hard to bring down. Ragone is big and tough, which scouts love. Ragone has good poise and makes good decisions in the pocket. He stuggled this season and didn't put up the numbers that he did when he was a junior which has caused his stock has slipped some.
Fit with Panthers: Before this season it was thought that Ragone would be a top 10 pick, but he struggled this year and maybe have been pushed down to the second round. The Panthers could build a team around Ragone if he comes back to they way he played his junior year.
Projection: Ragone could push his stock back up with a good pro-day and work at the NFL combine. Right now he looks like a 2nd round pick, but the Panthers need a QB of the future and if the top two are gone they could trade down and take him late in the first round.
