WR Profile: Brandon Lloyd

Lloyd could help the Panthers in the passing game but he is not worth the # 9 pick in the draft so will there be a chance for the Panthers to draft him?

Brandon Lloyd, Illinois, Junior 6-2 180

Profile: Lloyd has great hands and can go up in a crowd and come down with the ball.  He has decent speed but know how to get open and find the hole in the zone or beat his man one-on-one. He has come back very strong from a bad injury. He is a cocky player, but has the ability to back it up. Lloyd has very good athletic ability and good size. He is on the small side only weighing 185 pounds. Lloyd may have the best vertical leap of all the wide outs in the 2003 class.  He runs good routes and has very good lateral movement. Lloyd is very quick in and out of his breaks.

Fit with Panthers: Lloyd would be the number two wide receiver for the Panthers behind wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad. Lloyd would take the pressure off Muhammad and provide a great one-two punch for the Panthers. Lloyd could be the deep threat in the Panthers offense that they need.

Projection: Lloyd is not a top ten pick and the Panthers would trade down to draft him. There is some talk that the Panthers will trade down to add extra draft picks and get a impact offensive player. Right now Lloyd looks to mid to late 1st round draft pick that if slides to the second round the Panthers will trade up to draft him in the second round.
