WR Profile: Anquan Boldin

Boldin could be the Panthers second round pick if he is still around at the 41 overall pick in the 2003 draft.

Anquan Boldin, Florida State, Junior 6-2 225

Profile:  Boldin is a great athlete.  He might have been the best athlete at Florida State this season. In the Sugar Bowl he was forced to play quarterback and did a decent job. He has good hands and good size. He does a good job running routes, but needs to get better at that. He has the ability to block and is willing to go over the middle. He has missed some time because of injuries and is a little raw as far as the wide receiver position goes.

Fit with Panthers: Boldin would be the Panthers number two wide receiver behind Muhsin Muhammad. Boldin would help Muhammad in the passing game and provide the Panthers with the deep threat that the offense needs.

Projection: Boldin is a second round wide receiver who could end up being drafted in the late first round by either the Tennessee Titans or the Oakland Raiders, since they have the last two picks in the first round. If the Panthers have already drafted a quarterback in the first round and Boldin is there in the second round, the Panthers will likely end up drafting him with their second round pick.
