Lawrence Tynes Profile
PK Lawrence Tynes had nothing but the highest praise for the job done all season by his battery mates, long snapper Zak DeOssie and holder Steve Weatherford.
"I rely on those two guys. I have the easiest job of the three. The snap and the hold, especially the other night (in the NFC Championship Game at San Francisco), was difficult with the ball being wet and slippery. They might make it look easy, but it's not as easy as it looks and it's a lot of reps."
Tynes, said he demands excellence from both his long snapper and his holder and they have yet to let him down.
"I'm pretty hard on those guys. My job is in their hands, and they've done a great job with it."
A reason why Tynes is so demanding of DeOssie and Weatherford is because his kicking style leaves very little room to adjust if there is an error.
"With me being a two-step kicker, I really need everything to be perfect because I don't have a jab step," Tynes said. "That jab step can buy you some time, so we have to be perfect, that's what we're paid to do, so I expect them to be perfect."
