He really needs to participate in training camp to get into shape and get the rust off. I don't care if they keep him out of pre-season games, but he needs to be playing on opening day if this team has hopes of getting to a SB this year.
Freak injuries happen and he's had his share. He's due for a injury free BIG season.
This am it was speculated that the Pats would use Gronk differently for a while. He wouldn't be an every down guy, but would be used in passing situations & in the red zone. That may be why they have the blocking TEs in camp.

Not using him every down not only preserves him for post-season, but it puts more pressure on a defense to change coverage when Gronk is in there. With the speed they cycle personnel they may catch a defense with the wrong guy covering Gronk.
Bump.. Found this Div.. They're easing him in. He looks pretty good with no contact cuts at 1/2 speed is all I've seen. He's got two huge injury support/protection wraps on.. Will there be playing time words from the Gronks again? Time will tell.
