I barely even notice commentators. Unless there is something that really stands out and that causes them to hinder the viewing experience then I don't really care. Some of the guys that have been around a long time are obviously better than the rest. I actually like Gruden and Collinsworth.

I can't stand commercials - in ANY program, sooo I hit the "mute" or switch channels. - In fact I don't watch much TV these days - except during the football season. - Stop & think about it - the game is "one hour long" plus the half & some time-outs. - It takes THREE DAMN HOURS to watch one hour of football - guess what you're watching just as much of???
I feel I learn some from Collingsworth about play formations and what happened quickly before I see the replay or get access to coaches tape info.. But his whinny voice and picking on Rodney Harrison for being emotional and passionate against the Giants in the 16-0 game (I think it was) has me disliking him more since.
It seems like most commentators just want to predict and brag or question things they have no idea what they're talking about... Just to be controversial or impressive.. Know it all's. You don't get the job because of what you know but by how you look and if you can be entertaining enough within their script..
If we can include anyone talking football.. Deion Sanders......lol..inept.. Warren Sapp....lmao...inept Shannon Sharpe. roflol... Does anyone even understand what he says. blah blah blah, ha ha ha.. is about what I understand from him... He was funny as a player.. Yup.... lets put inept funny on tv. The kids will watch... maybe. Oh.... blah blah blah.... ha ha ha.. Michael Irving makes the list...When I don't know what I'm saying I laugh hard and grab people on set...
I keep sound up on TV and radio and try to not spoil action that I can watch with the timing of it. I just don't want to hear the play before it happens.. Radio a lot of times gives me more info and quicker about what is actually happening on the field with player, coach, going ons that TV hardly talks about..
Oops......Left Tom ( "They hate their coach" ) Jackson out.. Has he chimed in yet about Mankins...?
