We started Matt Moore last week at QB. He did OK, with only 1 int. (Thats an improvement over what Jake has done lately.) Our running game was productive even without our starter (Dwill). Our defense gave up a lot of yards but picked up an int in the red zone to stop them.
You said you defense got in interception in the end zone last week. Well the Patriot offense threw an intercetion in the end zone.
If teh game is tied at half time and you have the ball to begin the half, I bet the Panthers will score on the second half opening drive. Patriot coordinators cannot and do not adjust. Belichick is too proud to admity a mistake in hiring them to do anything about it. So the team just stutters until BB loses his pride or Kraft steps in. Unless a leader like Brady says change OC's or I will not sign here again. Then either BB fires the coordinators or Kraft fires BB.
I would really love to know what the hell goes on over there in the Patriots offices. It's obvious Pees/O'B aren't getting it done. It's obvious to the fans. It's obvious to the oppoinents. It's obvious to the idiots up in the broadcast booth.
Anyway, this Sunday's game will be another battle of player skill versus coordinator incompetance. Oh, and yeah, they're playing the Panthers too.
Guys...we're 7-5 and leading the division. We've got issues, that's for sure, but when we've played against bad teams this year, we've destroyed them. We're at home after a blizzard...they're from North Carolina. Yes, it's true that we've blown big leads and that this team is down in the dumps...but c'mon now, we have Brady throwing the ball against a bad team in Foxboro in mid-December...
dc i wouldn't go calling us a "bad team" based on our record. ask anyone who faced us the panthers play better than their record states. Jake is the main reason for most of our losses so to say we are a bad team without much video on us is off a lil.
indeed TX a lot has to do with our starting QB going 8-18 on the TD to int ratio. our star RB has a few uncharacteristic fumbles early in the year (what i mean by that is going into the season he didn't fumble at all last season and only had 2 in his then 3 year career)
The Panthers will run the ball on almost every down! Have fun with that guys We didn’t score at all in the entire first half there was no chance for us to establish a good running game and we were the ones that were forced to throw the ball. Their DB drop back quickly play tight coverage and they also crowd the line if needed. On one play our best back Pierre Thomas needed 4 downs to gains a first. It was a nightmare of a first half and if not for the Panthers mistakes that we took advantage of who knows if we had one this matchup. The Panthers will run the ball up your throat and if they run the ball as well as they usually do and if they don’t turn the ball over I see them winning this one.
The main issue is our backs here. they not only can run they are very dangerous out of the backfield period and if we cant run it we will find a way to feed them the ball. Arizona was number 1 against the run when we faced them and tore up their D. Now saying the cold will be a factor, meh we played in green bay this week last year didn't we i am not sure. All I want is a nice injury free game however possible that is lol
My bet is - this game is a flip of the coin. While the Panthers aren't about to win the SB, - unless the Pats do a 180* turn, neither are they. While I haven't added it up, - the Pats have given up a HUGE amount of points when ahead, in order to find a way to loose. I'd say this game isn't a "given" for either team.
Maroney seems to play better in the snow ... or maybe the opposing D-Line just plays worse in it ... but I'll still give the Pats the nod on the ground.
If Brady's hurt this would be a good game to let Hoyer start. Home game, crappy weather so lots of run plays and short passes. Hopefully Edelman and Stanback get more involved to take some pressure off Moss.
Hopefully the OC and DC are late to the game due to snow ... by about 3 hours.
So, Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas is inactive… what does that mean?
snow Perhaps the shock is over. The news that Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas is inactive for today’s game is out there and being processed.
So let’s talk about what this means for the Patriots?
Any time a two-time Pro Bowler doesn’t suit up, the team will feel the loss. Actually, in snowy Gillette Stadium (left, from our photog Matt West), they may not feel anything. Major numbness is possible.
Anyway, perhaps all that talk of playing more 3-4 is out the window with Thomas’ absence. But that talk of Junior Seau’s immediate impact is real.
As a versatile veteran, Seau may fill Thomas’ void. Coach Bill Belichick has lauded how versatile he is, so we may see him outside some. Gary Guyton could play there, too.
But also expect to see Rob Ninkovich. Remember, he contributed while Thomas watched against the Broncos, having a sack and tipping a pass. He’s impressed since he signed mid-way through camp.
Afterward, Ninkovich told me, “I’m just hoping that I can give them more confidence that they can put me in there, if someone gets tired or someone’s getting winded, so they know they can call my number and know that the performance level wouldn’t’ drop at all. I try to make the best impression I can.”
Is that the reason Thomas is inactive?
Tough to tell… Is it possible a trade may be getting worked out, as several have asked? Thomas has hefty cap numbers, but who knows?
But it’s also worth noting that, despite his credentials, Thomas is 10th on the team with 15 tackles. He has just one sack.
Man, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out
In addition, DL Myron Pryor is “doubtful” with a chest injury. AndRB Fred Taylor is “questionable” with his ankle injury. As for the Panthers, QB Jake Delhome is out, so it’s all Matt Moore.

Oh boy. I can't wait to see this one. Man am I pumped. So, NE comes out and destroy's this team and we're all chits n giggles! Then they go to 8-5. Wow!
Then, whats this? Oh no a road game.............
Fans...this is what a tobogan(sp) slide to cell looks like. There is only one guy who can step in and say enought, I've seen enought.
RB Fred Taylor (ankle) has been listed as questionable for the team’s Week 14 game against the Panthers. If Taylor returns Sunday, it will be the first time he has played in 10 weeks. He last played in Week 4 against the Ravens, when he hurt his ankle.
Fact is this is standard practice for BB. Remember a year or two ago when Hobbs started to STB? What did BB do? He benched him. And Hobbs won his job back with kick returns and became one of the leaders of the secondary. BB has always run the team by the rule of "whoever comes to play Sunday gets to start".
In a test of wills between BB/RK and AD ... AD is way, way overmatched.
