Edelman Active Against The Jets

Patriots WR Julian Edelman is back among the active players for today's game against the New York Jets. New York has a number of players missing. Aside from Nick Kaczur, New England has only backups inactive for the day

The Patriots head into their matchup against the Jets without a host of backups, but with a new face. Wide receiver Julian Edelman will be active for the team's Week Two showdown with their AFC East Rival.

There has been plenty of talk about who will or won't play for the Jets. Darrelle Revis was a surprise show on the injury report Thursday with a tight hamstring. Revis, as expected will play.

Rex Ryan said Revis would be out there, "Yes, probable," Ryan said during his press conference. "Definite he'll play [laughter], one of those deals."

The nod and the wink Ryan gave was obviously a ploy to throw a wrinkle at New England. Patriots LB Jerod Mayo said Revis was probably faking the injury as a way to fool the Patriots into thinking he's hurt.

With Edelman back, the Patriots do not need newly signed Woodhead or the rookie Price. It appears no team captain trickery here.

Kaczur and Wheatley continue to rehab their injuries.
