Notebook: Butler and Player Quick Hits

Darius Butler began the year as New England's starting cornerback, before being benched following a tough Week 2 loss to the Jets. After barely seeing the field for six straight weeks, and then coming up a healthy scratch against the Steelers, the 2009 second-round pick has gotten back into the rotation over the last two weeks thanks to an injury to Jonathan Wilhite.

BY THE NUMBERS: 6 -- The number of quarterbacks in NFL history who've notched perfect single-game passer ratings of 158.3 more than once. Tom Brady joined the exclusive club on Thanksgiving Day in beating the Lions. He also had a perfect rating in beating the Dolphins in October of 2007.

--RB Fred Taylor was active for the Thanksgiving trip to Detroit, but did not play. Taylor had been inactive for seven straight games with a toe injury.

--S Jarrad Page was also active but did not play against the Lions, having missed the previous five games with a calf injury.

--G Stephen Neal (shoulder) missed his third straight game when he sat out the holiday meeting with the Detroit.

--CB Jonathan Wilhite (hip) missed his second straight game.

--DL Mike Wright (neck/concussion) missed his first game of the season in Detroit.

--DL Myron Pryor (back) led the rest of New England's inactives on Thanksgiving Day, along with WR Taylor Price, OL Rich Ohrnberger, T Mark Le Voir and DL Brandon Deaderick.

--QB Tom Brady notched this second single-game perfect passer rating of his career against Detroit, completing 21 of his 27 passes for 341 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions for the 158.3 rating.

--RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis led a trio of Patriots who had a pair of touchdowns each in beating the Lions. Green-Ellis had two rushing scores, while Wes Welker and Deion Branch both scored a pair of touchdown receptions in the 45-24 victory.
