Rob Gronkowski -- The Patriots biggest target also had the biggest day on the field. Gronkowski made big catches, tough catches and excelled as a blocker throughout the day with both first and second string offense. Gronk finshed with 6 catches for 102 yards and a TD.
Tom Brady – Brady completed 10 of his 16 passes for a pair of TDs and still no interceptions. Brady owns the NFL record of most consecutive passes without an interception at 335. He was his usual efficient self directing the team to four of the team's five offensive scores. Brady's two TDs gives him 12 games with at least 2 this season. His efficiency gives him a season ending 111.0 QB rating, 5th best in NFL history.
Patriots Defense – For the fourth time in the past five games, the defense held their opponent to under 10 points for the game. New England held Both Chad Henne and Tyler Thigpen to under 50% completion percentage anda combined QB rating of 62.9. One INT and a forced fumble put the team into the positive turnover ratio again overcoming a Patriots fumble.
Coaching, Julian Edelman, Devin McCourty, Vince Wilfork
The Fumble – Danny Woodhead doesn't deserve a goat, but his fumble broke a streak of over 400 carries without a turnover. By default the outcome earns him the goat despite his getting knocked out of the game from the hit.
Dumb Penalties – A delay of game, unnecessary pass interference and a holding call were the obvious ones that led to difficult situations for the team. . The delay derailed a drive at the Miami 16. The interference led to Miami's only score. And the hold derailed another drive that was at the Miami 12.
Inactives – The move to deactivate Wes Welker disrupted a streak by Welker who had a chance to turn in his fourth season with 100 catches for New England. Although he needed a monster game to make it, Welker's season total ended with 86.
