1) Wes Welker
– Despite being covered by the Jets'
top DB Darrelle Revis,
Welker still managed to set new records and
break the 1,000 yards receiving mark in Week 10. Welker
finished with 6 receptions for 46 yards, and earned his fourth 1,000
yard season as a Patriot. He was also the fastest player in NFL history
to reach 500 receptions with one team.
2) Tom Brady
– Brady managed to chalk up another
near-flawless 300-yard passing performance to put the Jets vaunted
defense on its heels. Brady notched his 40th career 300-yard
performance, his 117th win and his ninth 3,000 yard season. He's still
on pace to break Dan Marino's 5,084 yard single season passing record.
Carter – 4.5 sacks. Carter was
nearly unstoppable for a good portion of the game against the Jets. He
used bull rushes, speed rushes, stunts and sheer effort to harass Mark Sanchez into
Rob Ninkiovich – deserves a game ball, but only
limited to 3. His Pick-6 of sanchez late in the game put the
contest completely out of reach for the Jets.
Patriots defensive line – a disruptive performance all night.
Patriots patchwork secondary – they still gave up
over 300 yards and allowed the jets to convert some crucial third
downs, but the secondary stepped up in the first part of the game to
help salt away a key win.
Rob Gronkowski -- The Jets could not stop Gronk.
Narrowly missed a game ball with his 8 reception,
113 yards 2 TD performance.
– Chad had a nice catch for 53 yards
to open up the Jets coverage. After getting blanked previously, Ocho
needed to make a play, and he did.
Moore – As much as Moore may
have wanted to level Plaxico
Burress, taking out your own guy is a bad,
2) Inventor of the 'San-chise' nickname –
Much of the talk is already of what the Jets will do when Sanchez's
contract comes due next year. Sanchez still struggles when
3) Running game – With the exception of
(7 runs for 38 yards, 5.4 avg), the Patriots were unable
to get the ball going on the ground until the game was almost
completely over. BenJarvus
Green-Ellis had 8 carries for 8
yards (1.0 avg.); Kevin
Faulk 5/8 (1.6), and Stevan
Ridley 5/4 (0.8).
Officiating – Not a failing grade, but some of the
consistency in the calls was absent. The hit that knocked
McCourty out of the game didn't look like the Patriots even hit
