RUMOR Mill: Kevin Faulk is All done in New England

Buzz: HOT More fact than fiction.

Status: Faulk gave what looked like a goodbye interview to Shalise Manza-Young on NESN.

Analysis: With two RBs selected last year, and Woodhead still on the roster,  it's highly unlikely we'll see Kevin Faulk back for his 14th season as a Patriot.  At 35, his body has probably had enough.

The biggest indications that the Patriots have moved on came when Faulk was deactivated three of the team's final four games including the Super Bowl. His last carry was a 1 yard run against the Broncos in the regular season win in Week 15.  Faulk was active just one more time, when New England played the Broncos at Gillette Stadium in the division round of the playoffs.  He recorded no statistics.

Faulk appeared in just seven games (3 starts) during the 2011 season. He gained 57 yards in 17 rushing attempts (3.4 avg.) and caught 7 passes for 34 yards (4.9 avg.)

In his 13 years as a pro, all in New England, Faulk carried the ball 864 times for  3,607 yards (4.2 avg.) and 16 touchdowns.  As a dual purpose back who could be just as dangerous catching the ball, Faulk managed 431 receptions for 3,701 yards (8.6 avg.) and 15 touchdowns.

On special teams, Faulk was both a kickoff returner and a punt returner.  He recorded 181 kickoff returns for 4,098 yards (22.6 avg.) and a pair of  touchdowns. As a punt returner, Faulk recorded 101 punt returns for 943 yards (9.3 avg.).
