Patriots TE Hernandez Arrested

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was escorted from his house in handcuffs Wednesday morning.

Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been arrested, according to multiple reports. A video of the arrest appeared on the NFL Network, showing Hernandez being taken into custody in handcuffs by two law enforcement officials, while wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts.

At the moment, it's unclear if Hernandez was arrested for obstruction of justice, which was what he was reportedly going to be arrested for a few days ago, or if the charge is something greater.

Reportedly, Hernandez destroyed his home surveillance system and turned over a broken cell phone to authorities, which would be a reason police would want to charge him with obstruction of justice.

All of this stems from the body of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd being found in a park near Hernandez's home, and close to a rental car registered in Hernandez's name. Hernandez has stayed quiet on the investigation since his name has been linked.

Just over a day ago, Hernandez's attorney, Michael Fee, issued a statement claiming there were falsified media reports, including an arrest warrant for his client. That warrant has apparently been carried out since Fee's assertion there wasn't one.
