2014 draft picks: 1st round (29), 2(62), 3(93), 4(130), 4(140), 6(198), 6 (206), 7 (244)
It was amazing that the Patriots were able to win a dozen games without great play and production from the tight end position and some very young wide receivers. Tom Brady is still a surgeon and one of the game's best and this season they will be much more ready in the passing game. The Patriots will look to address their pass rush and the interior of both fronts with this draft. They would also love to add another tight end or two.
1. Defensive Tackle
New England has two issues up front. They couldn't stop the run in 2013 and need another Vince Wilfork presence in the middle to spot him next season and be the guy beyond 2014.
2. Tight End
Just how badly did the Patriots miss the play of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez last year? Brady needs a young and healthy tight end to work into the New England passing game. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me to see them take two in this draft.
At some point in this draft the Pats need to address the safety position with a guy that possesses good cover skills.
4. Pass Rusher
New England needs some help getting after the quarterback with outside pressure and need to address this by adding a defensive end and or outside ‘backer who can come off the egde.
5. Interior OL
It's listed as such because they could use a center and guard and a swing player that can do both. You have to protect Brady better up the middle.
