Possible Draft Day Trade

With backup quarterback Ryan Mallett entering the last season of his contract, don't be shocked if the Patriots trade him.

The Patriots are entering the 2014 NFL Draft with a lot of wiggle room and a number of draft picks. Don't be surprised if the Patriots decide to trade their backup quarterback, Ryan Mallett, to a team desperate for a quarterback. One possible destination could be Minnesota.

The draft this year is deep and the Patriots need to move up to get an immediate impact player. The possible scenario could be the Patriots trade their first round pick (29th overall) and a third round pick to the Vikings in exchange for Mallett, as well as a fourth round pick and a sixth round pick.

Mallett has yet to play significant snaps in New England and with three years left on Tom Brady's deal, it's time to move Mallett, who is entering the last season of his rookie contract. Mallett moving to Minnesota could provide stability to an unstable quarterback situation on the Vikings.

Bill Belichick has never been one to sit pat with his picks and a way to improve the Patriots is to make draft day trades. Let the chaos begin!
