Scranton, Pennsylvania is most widely known for its role as the home of the Dunder Mifflin paper company on the hit television series The Office. However, 6-foot-9,305 pound Paris Palmer is certainly a new addition to Scranton's fame.
However, don't let that fool you because this three-star commit's roots grow deep in the south. Palmer is originally from Plymouth, North Carolina and has spent the past two to three years in Scranton with the Lackawanna Community College team.
"It was hard at first,"stated Palmer.
According to The Weather Channel, the average high for the month of January in Plymouth is around 53 degrees. Compared to Scranton's average 33-degree day, a 20-degree difference would be a substantial amount to adjust to on a chilly winter day.
The offensive tackle will have his warm weather back within 2015. Palmer committed to the University of South Carolina this past March. Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott was the main coach in contact with the three-star and first to let Palmer know of the Gamecocks offer after

He said his mom and and uncle took the visit with him to Columbia, and it will be nice to be closer to home once in South Carolina.
"It wasn't a very hard decision," stated Palmer.
He says Columbia is only around three-hours from his hometown, and his family will be able to watch him play more.

Palmer has been a standout at Lackawanna and won't be anything less this season because he and his teammates have their eyes set on one goal: going to a bowl game.
The Falcons finished off 4-6 overall in the 2013 season and will kick-off 2014 with a scrimmage in late August.
As for Palmer, he notes he has been continuing his workouts in the off-season to prepare.
