Mason Alstatt made it out to a camp at Cincinnati this summer. The trip up I-75 proved quite productive as he caught the attention of a couple of programs.

Lexington (KY.) Lafayette High safety Mason Alstatt performed well at Cincinnati’s camp this summer. The Bearcats weren’t the only school present to see Alstatt and other recruits on hand.

Akron was about to offer me after the Cincinnati camp,” Alstatt said. “They told me they’d keep in touch. Ohio said they’d watch me this upcoming season and go from there.”

So how did Alstatt get the attention of those coaching staffs?

“They liked how I was able to take practice drills into actual competition such as one-on-ones and just overall coverage,” he said.

Alstatt hasn’t planned any trips yet, but he hopes to get in touch with the coaches at Ohio sometime soon.

“I have Coach Izzy’s number from Ohio. So I’m able to text him whenever, but with summer ball going on right now, I haven’t thought about it,” he finished.

Alstatt led Lafayette with 95 tackles last season, as well as an interception and a fumble recovery. Scout.com will keep you updated on Mason Alstatt.
