Super Bowl Live Blog: Patriots vs. Seahawks

The New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will battle for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLIX from Glendale, Arizona. New England is playing in their eighth Super Bowl overall and are trying to win their 4th title. The Seahawks are looking to be the first team to win back-to-back since the 03-04 Patriots. Can New England throw on the Legion of Boom? Can Seattle score enough?

5:24 PM- Welcome to Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. NFL fans get to see the two best teams in the NFL square off in what should be a great Super Bowl. Let's take a look at the Patriots and Seahawks inactive players.

Patriots Inactives- DE Zach Moore, WR Josh Boyce, DT Joe Vellano, OL Jordan Devey, RB Jonas Gray, RB James White

Seahawks Inactives- QB B.J. Daniels, CB Marcus Burley, C Patrick Lewis, G Keavon Milton, DT David King, OT Garry Gilliam, WR Kevin Norwood

6:25 PM- New England loses the coin toss and will receive to start the game. Brady gets his first crack at the awesome Seattle defense.

6:35 PM- One first down for New England and then they're forced to punt. Brady looked a little shaky on the third down throw. Russell Wilson gets his first crack at the Patriot defense.

6:41 PM- New England steps up and forces the three-&-out, and did it impressively by stuffing Marshawn Lynch on third-&-two. Brady and the Patriots offense will try to get into rhythm and strike first in this battle of strong defenses.

6:53 PM- Another Brady braincramp interception, something that is starting to look very familiar to Patriots fans. You simply can't throw that ball and waste scoring opportunities; take the sack and kick the field goal. Huge play, and it could come back to haunt New England.

7:02 PM- The Patriots secondary is dominating and the Seahawks are forced to punt again. Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch are great, but if Seattle can't throw the ball, they'll be in trouble tonight.

7:11 PM- Touchdown, Patriots! New England goes right after Tharold Simon, and after a big catch and run on a slant by Julian Edelman, cash in with a touchdown catch by Brandon LaFell. Patriots 7, Seahawks 0

7:19 PM- Another three-and-out for the Seahawks, mostly thanks to the Patriots defensive backs. We talked about the huge advantage the Patriots secondary had over the Seattle receivers and tight ends. Patriots 7, Seahawks 0

7:27 PM- Three-and-out for the Patriots offense; it looked like there was some space for Brady to run, but the Seahawks defense closes fast so he probably made the right choice. Russell Wilson will try to get his offense rolling and get on the board.

7:35 PM- Touchdown, Seahawks. Russell Wilson hits the big play he needed to wake up his teammates and Marshawn Lynch finishes the job. Dont'a Hightower appeared to get injured on the touchdown; he would be a huge loss for the Patriots defense. Patriots 7, Seahawks 7

7:47 PM- Touchdown, Patriots! Rob Gronkowski picks up the touchdown catch to put the Patriots back on top. The Seahawks secondary is a mess after Jeremy Lane going down and Tom Brady is taking full advantage. If Seattle can't slow down this New England passing attack, New England is going to score all night. Patriots 14, Seahawks 7

7:58 PM - Touchdown, Seahawks. Awful, and I mean AWFUL defense by New England. They simply let up in the final 40 seconds and Seattle took exactly what was given to them. You simply can't lose focus like that in big moments. Logan Ryan could have tackled him and drew the penalty, but he was clueless and did nothing. That's the end of the half with the score Patriots 14, Seahawks 14.

8:36 PM- Rob Ninkovich steps up and makes a huge stop on Marshawn Lynch to force a Seattle field goal. Steven Hauschka had some struggles the last time he kicked in Arizona, but not today. Chris Matthews continues to kill the Patriots and he now has three catches for 100 yards. It's time to make an adjustment. Seahawks 17, Patriots 14

8:47 PM- Tom Brady makes another bad throw and it results in an interception for Bobby Wagner. Brady is forcing throws and it might be what ultimately costs the Patriots the game. Seattle has all the momentum and New England is reeling. Seahawks 17, Patriots 14

8:53 PM- Touchdown, Seahawks. Seattle capitalizes on another Tom Brady interception and the Patriots are in a ten point hole against the best defense in football. New England needs to put together a drive right now or this one might be over. Seahawks 24, Patriots 14

9:02 PM- The Patriots are forced to punt and dreams of a fourth title are starting to fade. The New England defense needs to step up and get a stop right here or Seattle is winning their second straight title. Can New England get back to what they were doing early? Probably not. Seahawks 24, Patriots 14

9:08 PM- The Patriots defense gets the much needed stop and now it is up to Brady and Co. to step up and put another touchdown on the board.

9:17 PM- Once again the defense steps up and gets a stop, but can the Patriots offense get anything going? There are over 12 minutes to go so there is plenty of time for a comeback, but they need to start now. Spread them out and try to get the no-huddle rolling. Seahawks 24, Patriots 14

9:27 PM- Touchdown, Patriots! Tom Brady leads the Patriots offense down the field to make this a three point game. This has not been Tom's best game, but the Seattle defense makes it tough out there. If the Patriots defense can step up and get a stop, Brady will get a shot to drive the Patriots to win at the end of the game. Seahawks 24, Patriots 21

9:35 PM- Well, game on. The Pats defense steps up and forces a three-and-out and the Patriots offense will take over at the Seattle 36. New England obviously needs a score, but the best bet is a long drive capped by a touchdown. Seahawks 24, Patriots 21

9:47 PM- Touchdown, Patriots! Tom Brady hits Julian Edelman for a three yard touchdown to put the Patriots ahead by four with 2:02 to go. Seattle has three timeouts and the Patriots have two. Here we go! Patriots 28, Seahawks 24

10:01 PM- The most unbelievable ending I've ever seen in a Super Bowl. Seattle' Jermaine Kearse comes up with a miracle catch but New England steps up and makes the crucial interception to steal a win away from Seattle, who was up by ten to start the fourth. Congratulations to the 2014 World Champion New England Patriots!!

Final Score: Patriots 28, Seahawks 24
