Week Three Live Blog: Patriots vs. Jaguars

The Patriots welcome the Jaguars to Foxboro today for an afternoon AFC battle. The Patriots are looking to start the season 3-0 and the Jaguars are looking to extend their win streak to two.

12:45- Fifteen minutes from gametime in Foxboro. Let's take a look at the inactives for today's game:

Patriots: DE Trey Flowers, G-Ryan Wendell, DE-Rufus Johnson, CB-Bradley Fletcher, S-Tavon Wilson, RB- Travaris Cadet, TE-Michael Hommanawanui

Jaguars: RB- Denard Robinson, CB- Dwayne Gratz, SS Jonathan Cyprien, OT- Luke Joeckel, TE Julius Thomas, DE Andre Branch, DT Sen'Derrick Marks

1:05- Three and out for the Jaguars; Blake Bortles got lucky avoiding an interception, but it didn't matter as the Patriots defense quickly removes the Jags offense from the field. Brady and the Patriots offense gets their first shot to score now.

1:11- Touchdown, Patriots! Rob Gronkowski keyed the drive with long catch and run the setup the Patriots from the eight yard line, and Dion Lewis took it from there, using Gronkowski to shield himself from the excellent Jaguar linebackers and take it in for six. Patriots 7, Jaguars 0

1:19- The Jags made a couple plays, but the Patriots defense stepped up and made the sack on third down to get the ball back for the offense. Blake Bortles will probably settle down, but he's looked shaky in the first two drives.

1:28- Brady leads to offense down the field again, but a questionable offensive PI on Rob Gronkowski put the offense in a 2nd and 20 position. The were able to get 15 of the yards back and pick up three points on a 46-yard Stephen Gostkowski field goal. Patriots 10, Jaguars 0

1:52- The Jaguars get a lucky break with a fumble recovery that gave them a first down on third and long leads to a 40 yard field goal for Jason Myers. Malcolm Butler dropped a sure interception, an issue he's been dealing with over the first three games. Patriots 10, Jaguars 3

2:06- Brady drove the offense down the field again, but once again they had to settle for a field goal. Getting stopped at the three yard line is a killer and a huge confidence boost for the young Jaguars. The Patriots defense needs to get a stop on this next drive or this game could get interesting. Patriots 13, Jaguars 3

2:16- Interception, Patriots! Devin McCourty finally makes Blake Bortles pay for his erant throws and picks one off to setup the two-minute drill for Brady and the offense. This secondary isn't as good as last years, but they still make a lot of plays. Patriots 13, Jaguars 3

2:23- Touchdown, Patriots! That is Tom Brady's 400th career touchdown pass; just another milestone for the greatest quarterback that's ever lived. Rob Gronkowski setup the touchdown with a 26 yard catch down to the eight, and Brady, Dion Lewis, and Danny Amendola finished the job from there. Patriots 20, Jaguars 3

2:49- Another drive that looked like it was going to go for seven but only ends up as three. Stephen Gostkoski connects from 46 yards out to put the Patriots ahead by three toucdowns. Rob Gronkowski made another big play on the drive and now has four receptions 101 yards on the day. Patriots 23, Jaguars 3

2:54- The Patriots defense forces a three-and-out and the offense has a chance to come out and put the nail in the coffin with a score, be it a field goal or a touchdown. The New England secondary has had a solid day against the same group who had their way with Miami last week. Patriots offense takes over; Patriots 23, Jaguars 3

3:00- Touchdown, Patriots! LeGarrette Blount takes it in from one yard out after two pass interference penalties placed them at the goal line. Gus Bradley wasn't happy with the calls, but they were pretty obvious. This game has reached the ugly stage, but it's not a surprise; the Jags are overmatched. Patriots 30, Jaguars 10

3:10- Touchdown, Jaguars. Allen Hurns pulls in the pass and takes it from 59 yards out to give the Jaguars their first touchdown of the game. With over six minutes to go in the third quarter, the Jags still have a punchers chance, but they need to stop the Patriots offense, which they haven't done all day. Patriots 30, Jaguars 10

3:18- Touchdown, Patriots! Tom Brady finds Keshawn Martin takes a Tom Brady throw and takes into the end zone for a 13 yard touchdown to put the Patriots back up by four touchdowns. Great teams take care of business against bad teams and the Patriots are doing that today. LeGarrette Blount keyed the drive. Patriots 37, Jaguars 10

3:23- The Patriots defense forced the three-and-out, and then Jacksonville tried to fake the punt but it was sniffed out by special teams star Matthew Slater, and the Patriots take over at the Jaguars 24. This game is ugly and about to get worse.

3:28- Touchdown, Patriots! The rout is on as LeGarrette Blount takes it in from the one, his second touchdown run of the day. We may get to see Jimmy Garoppolo today, but that is never a guarantee with the Patriots. Patriots 44, Jaguars 10

3:34- Another three-and-out for the Jaguars and the Patriots offense will come back out and see if they can put a 50-spot on the board today. Tom Brady is coming back in, and don't be surprised if he's in shotgun. The Patriots are in full F-You mode and ready to roll up scores on everyone in their path, just like 2007.

3:47- Touchdown, Patriots! LeGarrette Blount with his third touchdown of the day and the Patriots have put 51 on the board. The Jaguars have been decent over the first two games, but they ran into a buzzsaw today.

FINAL SCORE: Patriots 51, Jaguars 10

Thanks for being with us today and be sure to join Sunday, October 11th when the Patriots head to Dallas to take on the Tony Romo-less Cowboys. The 3-0 Patriots have the bye this week and that will allow some dinged up players to heal up. See you all in two weeks!!
