The Patriots are always looking for more depth, and they continued building it yesterday with the signing of cornerback E.J. Biggers, who is entering his seventh season. Biggers will join his join his fourth team after playing for the Bucs, Redskins, and Eagles.
Biggers, who will be 29 when the season begins, attended Western Michigan University and was selected in the seventh round by the Bucs in 2009. Biggers has appeared in 92 games in his career, starting 34. He has 216 solo tackles, 46 assisted tackles, 41 passes deflected, two forced fumbles, one sack, and four interceptions.
His best season came in 2012 when he started 12 of 13 games, but the Bucs decided to move on when he was a free agent and he signed with Washington as a backup. He has still been used as a spot starter over the last three years, so he's clearly good enough to contribute, although it may only be in nickel, dime, and when injuries occur.
