After Super Bowl 50 was complete, the Patriots were immediately pegged as Super Bowl LI favorites, being given 15-2 odds. After the trade of Chandler Jones, some expected Bovada (online sports betting out of Las Vegas) to move them down and name a new favorite. Well, after having a strong free agent haul, making an excellent trade for Martellus Bennett, and now having a strong draft this past weekend, New England not only is still the favorite to win it all, their odds have improved to 7-1.
Second to the Patriots were the Seattle Seahawks, who were listed as 8-1 odds to win Super Bowl LI. With Marshawn Lynch's retirement, it will be interesting to see how teams try to defend their offense in 2016, but this team is still extremely talented and it wouldn't be surprising to see them in the Super Bowl again. The Panthers, who lost Super Bowl 50 to the Denver Broncos and lost talented corner Josh Norman to the Redskins, are still considered one of the top teams in the NFL and are also 11-1 favorites. The return of Kelvin Benjamin will be huge for Cam Newton and the Panthers defense.
