Bad news out of Foxboro today as the Patriots announce that running back Dion Lewis will be out indefinitely because he has to undergo a second surgery on the knee he injured last season.
Tom Curran of Comcast Sports New England tweeted:
With James White and D.J. Foster on the depth chart, the Patriots do have depth at the third down position, but this is an unfortunate setback for Lewis, a player that has always shown promise, found the perfect team in New England, and now he is bit by the injury bug again. The silver lining is that it doesn't involve his surgically repaired ACL, but anytime a running back gets knee surgery it's cause for concern.
