Rob Gronkowski Questionable For Sunday Night

Rob Gronkowski's ailing hamstring may keep him out of Sunday nights opener in Arizona, putting the Patriots in a position where they may open the season without their two best players.

Heading into the 2016 season, Patriots' fans were angry about the suspension of Tom Brady, but they took solace in the fact that they had weapons around Jimmy Garoppolo that would ease his transition into the starter role. As long as he had Gronk, everything would work out. Well, there may be a problem because Gronk's banged up hamstring may keep him off the field on Sunday night.

In the event that Gronkowski doesn't play, Martellus Bennett would become the top option at tight end while Clay Harbor and A.J. Derby would become big parts of the offense too. Derby is the better receiver, Harbor is the better blocker, so they would be deployed based upon the game situation. It is good that the Patriots have Bennett to fill in as the top tight end, but the best tight end in football is irreplaceable.

We will keep everyone updated on the progress of Gronkowski.
