Preview: Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots:

In what many football fans dub as the match up of the week, the New England Patriots (4-0) host the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) behind a defense hoping to rattle former Boston College QB, Matt Hasselback, early with zone blitzes.
This won’t be an easy task with Seattle having one of the top offensive lines in the NFL and stud RB Shaun Alexander (382 yds 5 tds) in the backfield.

The Patriots are coming off of a win against Miami last week that saw them break the NFL record for consecutive games won with 19 in a row. The Patriots were featured this week on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

The Seahawks suffered a devastating loss last week against St. Louis by allowing the Rams to come back from a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter in an important NFC West battle. Seattle needs today’s win to reestablish itself as the team to beat in the NFC and must not give up more ground to the Rams.

Patriots RB, Corey Dillon, who is averaging 5 yards per carry, will try to shake off a right foot injury suffered on a long run against the Dolphins at the end of last week's 24-10 win. If Dillon (417 yds 1td) can't stay in the game, RB Kevin Faulk, who has seen limited action this season due to a knee injury, will be called upon to carry the load with FB Patrick Pass.

Defensive Back Rodney Harrison was voted dirtiest player in the NFL in a poll of NFL players, in this week’s Sports Illustrated. The Patriots signed Harrison from the San Diego Chargers in 2003 making it possible to release longtime DB Lawyer Milloy at the start of the 2003 season. Milloy was holding out for more money.

WR Deion Branch (knee) will not play against Seattle, WR Troy Brown (shoulder) could play, and while Tom Brady still has very capable receivers such as David Patten and David Givens, the depth is definitely in question. Another question in the receiver mix is the status of second-year speedster Bethel Johnson, who last Sunday was benched for what team officials said was a lackluster week of practice and poor knowledge of the playbook.
TE Daniel Graham leads all Patriot offensive players in touchdowns with 5 on 114 yards receiving.

Healthy shot to run it?
FOXBORO -- This may be the day we see just HOW valuable Corey Dillon is to this offense. The former Bengal picked up the slack last week when the Dolphins took the passing game out of the Pats arsenal. Unfortunately he suffered a left foot injury early in the second half and sat out all but one play the rest of the way.
Boston Herald

Time to get serious
FOXBORO -- If Bill Belichick [news] gets a Gatorade shower for beating the Cardinals, Bills and Dolphins in succession, prepare yourself for a parade if the Patriots [stats, news] win their next four -- starting with this afternoon's game against the Seahawks.

On film, Seymour sees more
Thursday night is film night for Richard Seymour, and every week he takes someone new to the movies with him.

Hawks know this game is huge
They don't even pretend not to know. The Seahawks have clearly seen and heard all of the preseason hype surrounding their predicted finish this season. NFC champions. Super Bowl contenders.

Seahawks/NFL: Tobeck on lookout for trouble
KIRKLAND -- Robbie Tobeck's job is to recognize what's coming and make the calls that produce the necessary blocking adjustments. It's even more difficult than it sounds, and near impossible when the defense across the line is the New England Patriots.

Go 2 Guy: Game hits close to home for Hawks' QB
Jim Moore: NORFOLK, Mass. -- Eight miles. That's all that separates Matt Hasselbeck's childhood home from Gillette Stadium, where the Seahawks and their quarterback will attempt to end New England's 19-game winning streak tomorrow.
