Team Releases 11 Year Veteran Cornerback Ty Law

This ends speculation as to the future of the 31-year old who's exorbitant cap number was a hurdle the the Patriots needed to address in time for free agency next week.
Concern about the team's two top cap charges QB, Tom Brady (10 million) and Ty Law (12.5 million) has generated a good deal of speculation as to how the team would handle negotiations. Law is represented by the Postons, who have become known around the league as tough to deal with in player contract negotiations.

4:30 pm The AP is confirming the news on Law being relased. According to one wire report, head coach Bill Belichick said Law had a "tremendous career" with New England and wished him well in the future.
