Familiar foes to battle today at Gillette Stadium
The New England Patriots will face off against the Denver Broncos today at Gillette Stadium. According to The Enterprise, these two teams are like distant relatives that show up once a year for the holidays. "It's almost like they're a member of our division," Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi said. "We play each other every year and it's a battle
" The rivalry dates back to the first game played by each team in the old AFL. Head Coach Bill Belichick sums it up in this way: "The history is pretty bad. I think we all understand that. They beat us four of the last five times.
Jake Plummer having problems?
The Denver Broncos have not gotten off to the best of starts this season. They are currently 1-1 and their offense isn't exactly on top of the charts. When asked about the problems that Jake Plummer is having with his production, or lack of it, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had this to say: "That's the same thing they said about him last year when they were 1-1 and they go 13-3, what did he throw, almost 300 passes without an interception?"

The Patriots suffered 4 turnovers which resulted in points for the Broncos. Belichick stated that when you make a mistake against the Broncos, they are going to make you pay for it.
Quarterback Tom Brady remembers all too well
Perhaps the turning point of last year's Divisional playoff game against the Broncos came when Champ Bailey intercepted Patriot's starting quarterback Tom Brady in the end zone and ran it back 100 yards for a touchdown. When spring training started, Brady brought up that play and how frustrated he was with it. Today he is putting it all behind him. "I've talked about that," said Brady. "I've talked about that a bunch in the last six months. I'm looking forward to this week, and to seeing what we can accomplish."
Mike Shanahan likes Patriot running back Laurence Maroney.
Denver Bronco's head coach Mike Shanahan is a big fan of two Patriot players. Shanahan admitted that he nearly selected running back Laurence Maroney in the draft. And as for the best quarterback in the league? Shanahan confesses: "(Brady) and (Peyton) Manning, I go back and forth
