The Dallas Cowboys were one of three teams onhand at this week's NFL Combine to pay close attention to former Connecticut fullback Deon Anderson, TheRanchReport.com has learned.
Anderson, who projects as a true fullback/H-back at the NFL level, rushed 23 times for 78 yards and also caught 14 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns during his senior season with the Huskies.
The Cowboys typically carry just one fullback on their 53-man regular season roster.
Last season Oliver Hoyte, a former linebacker in college at N.C. State, and Lousake Polite split time at the position.
Hoyte was one of three rookie free agents, and the only one on defense, to make the club out of training camp along with WR Miles Austin and WR Sam Hurd.
Anderson will likely be available as a late round pick or undrafted free agent.
TheRanchReport.com will continue to keep you updated on prospects the Cowboys have shown strong interest in during the coming weeks leading up to the 2007 draft.
