L.T. Finds Humor In Patriots Situation

Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson finds humor in the report that the Patriots may have been caught taping the signals of the New York Jets on Sunday.

In a team press conference, San Diego Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson responded to reports that the Patriots may have violated league rules by taping signals of the Jets.

"I think that the Patriots actually live by the saying 'If you're not cheating, you're not trying.'" Tomlinson said with a chuckle. "I think that's the way they live off that statement and nothing surprises me really. I'm not surprised because you keep hearing the different stories of people complaining about the stuff that they do. You know, so I'm not surprised."

LT was responding to questions about the Chargers rematch with the Patriots after losing 24-21 to New England in the AFC Divisional playoffs in January. Tomlinson took exception to the celebration the Patriots held after the game. A number of Patriots mimicked the celebratory "lights out" dance that Shawne Merriman had made famous. Tomlinson attempted to break up the players who were doing the dance at midfield. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers also took exception to the Patriots post-game celebration.

The Patriots host the Chargers 8:15 pm on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. The last time these two teams met in the regular season, the Chargers won 41 - 17 October 2, 2005. Both teams won their season openers on Sunday, San Diego defeated Chicago 14-3, while New England defeated the Jets 38-14.
