Denver Broncos
LB Louis Green was carted off the field on a stretcher at Reliant Stadium on Saturday night during a preseason game against the Texans. Green's head snapped violently during a collision with teammate D.J. Williams on a tackle of tight end Owen Daniels with 8:49 left in the first quarter.

Pittsburgh Steelers
QB Daunte Culpepper is one of the veteran options the Steelers are considering with Charlie Batch out with a broken collarbone.

Jacksonville Jaguars
DE James Wyche was placed on the waived/injured list with a torn Achilles tendon Saturday. The Jaguarssigned veteran free agent Bo Schobel.

DE Bo Schobel was signed by the Jaguars, who are looking for a veteran hand with Derrick Harvey holding out in a contract-related dispute.

New York Jets
QB Brett Favre is expected to start the team's Aug. 16 preseason game against the Redskins. Favre's first practice with the team was Aug. 9.

Green Bay Packers
RB Ryan Grant is being slowed by a hamstring injury the Packers are classifying as minor. Coach Mike McCarthy was uncertain whether Grant, who held out for one week of training camp while his contract was addressed, would play Monday night against the Bengals.

New England Patriots
S Tank Williams was placed on the injured reserve list by the Patriots. He was signed March 6 after playing with the Titans and Vikings..

CB Jeff Shoate signed with the Patriots. New England placed safety Tank Williams on the injured reserve list.

Cleveland Browns
S Gary Baxter was released four days after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to remove loose cartilage. Baxter tore both patellar tendons on the same play in a 2006 game against Denver. The 29-year-old sat out last season while rehabbing and switched from cornerback to safety in an attempt to extend his career.

Detroit Lions
CB Stanley Wilson is out for the season. He suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Thursday's preseason game against the Giants. Typically, rehabilitation from a torn Achilles takes at least one year.

New York Giants
LB Jonathan Goff will be sidelined indefinitely with a back injury. For now, the Giants are undecided whether to place Goff on the injured reserve list. The fifth-round draft pick from Vanderbilt broke part of a vertebra in his lower back in the second quarter of the preseason opener against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
