BREAKING: Reports coming out of the Ty Law camp indicate that the defensive back is in contract negotiations with the Patriots. With the release of veteran cornerback Fernando Bryant yesterday, the need for Law increased.
To make room on the roster for Law, the Patriots have reportedly cleared a spot by releasing wide receiver Chad Jackson. The Boston Globe first reported that a source close to Jackson has indicated the team informed the former Gator that he will be released.
Scout.com and PatriotsInsider.com's Adam Caplan has confirmed that Jackson was released today.
Stay tuned as we work to confirm the information
supporting these rumors.
UPDATE: Clarification on the initial statement that reports were coming from Ty Law's representatives. The contract negotiations report was from a media outlet that reported on the talks. The outlet reported that a source (with knowledge of the discussion) indicated the talks are in process.
