Junior Seau's retun is official the team announced Friday morning. Seau last played for the Patirots in Super Bowl XLI against the New York Giants. The signing of the 39 year old will help address the rash of injuries the team has suffered at the position.
to make room for Seau, the Patriots placed lineabcker Adalius Thomas on the reserve/injured list with an arm injury. Thomas hurt his arm in week ten against the Buffalo Bills. He was seen with his arm in a sling after the game and was replaced by Pierre Woods since the injury.
Without Thomas, Woods has manned the outside position for New England. Woods was injured in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers wiht a mouth injury. His replacement, linebacker Vince Redd, is nursing an ankle injury and hasn't practiced all week.
