Pioli To Kansas City

BREAKING: In a series of rapidly changing developments yesterday, the discussions between the Kansas City Chiefs and Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli moved from negotiations to a done deal.

Scott Pioli has been Bill Belichick's partner in building franchises since the pair first teamed up in Cleveland during the 1990s for the Cleveland Browns. That partnership is about to end, as sources confirm that Pioli has agreed to terms with the Kansas City Chiefs. Pioli will head up the Chiefs football operations as the team looks to replace former GM Carl Peterson.

The Patriots will need to find a replacement for Pioli in New England. One name being mentioned is Nick Caserio, director of pro personnel.

ESPN and the National Football Post were among the first to publicly report the agreement. Warpaint Illustrated has been reporting a deal was in the works since this past weekend.
