Brady, young and talented, has never let his team down. Although new to the professional game, he has led his team and shown them victory. A better leader I could not hope for. Amazing showings from Troy Brown, Kevin Faulk, David Patten, Antowain Smith, and Christian Fauria all season - This team is not made up of All-Pros ... or some dream team of superstars. Their teamwork and fight is what got them to where they are. I have never been more proud than I am now to be a Patriots fan, and I think you should feel the same way.
The game started out slow for the Patriots. Ricky Williams ran in a touchdown in the first quarter and then followed that with another end-zone walk-in about seven minutes later. Finally Antowain Smith put us on the board. Miami answered back, passing to McKnight and letting him score. Adam Vinatieri closed the first half with a 41-yard field goal, putting the score 21-10 Miami.
The third quarter was sort of bland with Adam Vinatieri kicking a 36-yard field goal. The fourth quarter made you sit on the edge of your couch. Miami kicked a field goal and New England scored twice with a touchdown and a field goal. This tied the game at 24. Going into overtime left myself rocking back and forth. This game was to be decided over the flip of a coin. Patriots win the toss and start with amazing field position. Miami kicked out of bounds on their kickoff and left the Patriots at the 40-yard line. They drove to the Miami 25-yard line and let Vinatieri kick a field goal for the win.
As I sat there watching the ball go through those two large, yellow posts, a tear crept out of my eye. As much as this is just a game, this is your team – be proud.
Go Patriots! Win it for us! (oh yeah, and Jets – lose miserably)
