Hood measures in at 63, 298 lbs., and has a spin-move that baffled some of the best collegiate linemen. At times in Senior Bowl practices, Hood was truly unblockable, as he has certain explosion off the snap of the football. Hood was quick to credit the people around him for his great showing at the Senior Bowl.
(I credit) all those Mizzou coaches doing all they can to make a great player out of me. CES down in Atlanta has helped train me (as well), Hood said when asked about where hes currently working out.
The former first team All-Big 12 performer finished his senior season with 57 tackles, six TFL, four sacks, two passes defensed, 10 quarterback hurries, and even had a blocked field goal. Those numbers helped earn him the Senior Bowl invite, and he was happy to receive the opportunity.
Feels like were part of an elite squad, the top seniors are here, Hood said in an exclusive interview with Scout.com. Its just good competition all around. Its been real fun, but its more business like than just coming down here and playing around.

I measured in at 63, 298 (pounds), Ziggy said. My normal playing weight for Mizzou was a little lighter, maybe 290-295. I dont want to get too much bigger, maybe 305, I dont want to lose my speed or quickness.
When asked what Bengals coach Marvin Lewis had him playing that week and what he excels in, he responded
Ive been playing mostly 3-technique, the coaches tried some different things today moving people around, but I want to pretty much stay 3-technique whatever team I go to, Hood said. If Im blessed with that opportunity theyll move me accordingly and Ill just have to get better at whatever Im doing.
Hood had several Missouri teammates join him in Mobile, something that would have been a bit of a shock just a few years ago.
It goes to show how much better Mizzou has got since the years where we were in the slums, Hood said candidly. Now the 04 and 05 class boosted up and basically we just got better.
