Draft: Safety Net, Top DB Update

Patriots Insider has an update on a top tier safety who will be visiting New England in the near future. He's also drawing strong interest from people who think a lot like New England.

We've been told by Scout.com's Chris Steuber that the Patriots will host Missouri safety William Moore on April 16th.

While it was reported earlier that Moore was one of three safeties lined up to visit New England, his visit date has now been confirmed.

New England needs another safety on the roster despite re-signing Fresno State product James Sanders to a three-year, $9 million deal. The secondary was decimated in seasons past, and with Rodney Harrison contemplating retirement – he says a decision is coming by June 1 – New England may finally have a roster spot to fill.

New England used a first round pick to select Miami (Fla) product Brandon Meriweather two seasons ago. After sitting out much of his rookie season, the former Hurricane saw more action in the starting lineup when Rodney Harrison went down with an injury.

Moore is currently in Atlanta and will visit with the Falcons' staff Monday. He's also Drawing interest from a competitor and is expected to visit them this month as well.
