"We are excited to announce that Darius Butler has agreed to terms on a 4 year deal with the Patriots," Rosenaus wrote on his twitter page.
A league source told Profootballtalk.com that Butler's deal includes no signing bonus, but includes a $440,000 roster bonus and an option bonus of $1.6275 million, which is guaranteed.
According to the report Butler will have base salaries of $310,000 this season, $395,000 in 2010, $582,500 in 2011, and $770,000 in 2012. The contract also reportedly includes a $150.000 bonus commonly known as a "falling off the log" bonus which rewards players for minimum playing time incentives.

The 5-foot-10, 183-pound Connecticut product was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft (41st overall).
