According to his own Twitter account ( @Wilfork75), Patriots NT Vince Wilfork has agreed to a long term deal to remain in New England. Franchised by the Patriots Wilfork and the team agreed to a 5 year $40 million contact Friday evening. Per Michael Smith, the deal includes $25 million in guarantees and an $18 million signing bonus.
"Thanks to everyone who supported us during our time here in New England it has ment a great deal to us....,"Wilfork tweeted. " with that being said we are pleased to say we will be here for MANY more years to come... MY wife and I thank you and are getting back to our vacation... c ya in foxboro soon"
The deal makes Wilfork the highest paid NT in the league according to reports.
Wilfork was originally selected by the Patriots in the first round (21st overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft.
