Per Sources, Gradkowski To Start Sunday

According to unconfirmed sources, the Oakland Raiders will bench quarterback Jason Campbell and will start Bruce Gradkowski against the Miami Dolphins.

According to various sources, the Oakland Raiders will replace Jason Campbell at quarterback and start Bruce Gradkowski on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

The news was first reported on Friday by the website ProFootballTalk and has been confirmed by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL Network and other sources.

Although both quarterbacks got some time with the first team during the week, the word is that Gradkowski had the edge by Friday. This news comes as somewhat of a surprise after Campbell and head coach Tom Cable made no indication of a possible change at the position.

Campbell was benched last week during a 35-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Campbell completed only 7 of 19 passes for 70 yards and an interception. Gradkowski finished the game, passing for 98 yards and an interception on 13-for-24 passing.

Campbell started the first two games of the season before being replaced by Gradkowski. Gradkowski started the next three games before going down with an injury. Campbell then led the Raiders to a 3-2 record in the next five games.
