Speculation has abounded since rumors started to fly on Thursday that the Huskies, who have lost two assistants since their season ended on December 22nd, had offered the former Husky quarterback the job.
The move will likely mean that Eric Kiesau, who joined the staff last year about the same time, will move to another position (he coached the wide receivers at Cal and Colorado) and will remain the offensive coordinator.
Tuiasosopo, a Woodinville High School star, was a QB at UW from 1997-2000. He served as an assistant strength coach for the Huskies in 2009-10 before going to UCLA, first as a graduate assistant under Rick Neuheisal and then last season as a receivers coach, his first as a full-time college assistant.
Tuiasosopo played in the NFL from 2001-08, including a year when Steve Sarkisian was his quarterbacks coach with the Raiders in 2004.
