Former Butte players get Free Agent contracts

Butte boasts quite a few players in the NFL including one of its top quarterbacks. None of their former players were drafted, but three -- QB Jordan Rodgers, WR Rashad Ross and WR Cole McKenzie -- did sign free agent contracts and will join their teams shortly to take part in spring/summer minicamps...

Rodgers completed nearly 60% of his passes (191 of 319) for 2,539 yards with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions for Vanderbilt last season and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars shortly after the completion of the draft.

At Arizona State last season, Ross finished with 37 receptions for 610 yars and six scores. He went undrafted, but found a home with the Tennessee Titans and will attend their minicamp this week.

McKenzie overcame the small school stigma and joined Rodgers in signing with Jacksonville after posting 98 receptions 1,661 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior this past fall at Southern Oregon.

**In other Butte-related news, former QB Aaron Rodgers signed a five-year, $110 million contract extension and QB Nelson Fishback signed with Western Kentucky and will play for the Hilltoppers this fall.
