Hayden to PUP, other transactions announced

Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie announced the following roster moves in order to reach the NFL-mandated 75-man roster.

The most significant move the Raiders made was placing second-year cornerback D.J. Hayden on the physically unable to perform list, which means he will be forced to remain inactive until at least week six due to league rules. He will be eligible to return for the Raiders starting week seven.

The Raiders released veteran quarterback Trent Edwards, waived wide receiver Juron Criner, waived/injured safety Larry Asante, wide receiver Greg Jenkins, running back Kory Sheets and placed tight end Nick Kasa in the injured reserve. They also waived/failed physical offensive lineman Lucas Nix.

McKenzie and the Raiders front office now has until Saturday to get down to the regular season roster size of 53.
