TE David Ausberry returns to practice

Rookie quarterback Derek Carr reportedly being named the starter wasn’t the only news to come out of Alameda on Monday.

The Oakland Raiders also saw the return of a key piece to their offense as tight end David Ausberry returned to the practice field for the first time since having a procedure done on his knee.

Ausberry was kept out of practice for nearly the entire month of August while he rehabbed his injured knee.

The fourth-year tight end possess great ability to receive the ball and will be another nice weapon for Derek Carr (or Matt Schaub).

Ausberry sat out all of last year after being put on the injured reserve with a shoulder injury. He has nine receptions for 106 yards in 26 games played.

The Raiders now have Ausberry, Mychal Ausberry and Brian Leonhardt at the tight end position on the roster.
