Raiders get middle linebacker Nick Roach back

The Oakland Raiders got a key piece of their defense back Wednesday and are relatively healthy heading into their regular season opener in New York taking on the Jets.

Starting middle linebacker Nick Roach returned to the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a concussion in the team’s week three preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

Roach is the quarterback of the defense and it is important to have him on the field to make all of the proper defensive calls.

Dennis Allen said he was limited on Wednesday and still has not been cleared to play on Sunday. This leaves him three days to be cleared to get back on the field.

In other injury news, cornerback Chimdi Chekwa still wasn’t back from his knee injury and was working on the side of the field with a trainer and D.J. Hayden.
