Raiders continue to revamp LB corps

The Oakland Raiders continued to rebuild their linebacker corps by adding former fifth-linebacker Jamar Chaney.

Chaney is coming off of stops with the Philadelphia Eagles (2010-12), Atlanta Falcons (2013) and Denver Broncos (2014 training camp). In all, he has recorded 161 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, 12 passes defensed and one forced fumble.

In 2011, Chaney started 16 games for the Philadelphia Eagles, totaling 104 tackles and three interceptions.

He was originally drafted by the Eagles as a seventh-round pick after he played 49 games at Mississippi State.

In order to make room for the new linebacker, the Raiders placed starting middle linebacker Nick Roach on injured reserve. Roach hadn’t returned to the field since he suffered a concussion on Aug. 22.
