Raiders join Toys for Tots program

The Oakland Raiders are once again teaming up with the United States Marine Corps Reserve this holiday season.

They are working to help brighten the holidays for thousands of children through the Toys for Tots program. For two consecutive Mondays - Dec. 15 and Dec. 22 - separate groups of Raiders players will sign autographs and greet fans at Southland Mall in Hayward.

In order to receive the autographs, fans are asked to donate new, unwrapped toys valued at $20 or more. Raiderettes and Raider Rusher, the SIlver & Black’s youth ambassador, will also be on hand for this event.

Members of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will also be on hand to collect your donations at O.Co Coliseum on Sunday, Dec. 21 before the Raiders take on the Buffalo Bills. In addition to new, unwrapped toys, monetary donations will also be accepted.

Marines will be stationed in Raiderville, as well as the West Side Plaza, near the BART entrance, and Gates A, B, C and D, from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on game day.

The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
