Reports: Del Rio earns second interview

It appears that Mark Davis and the Oakland Raiders really like Bay Area-native Jack Del Rio as their next head coach, so much that they didn’t wait long to contact him for a second interview.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media sas the Raiders were so eager that they contacted Del Rio “just moments after” the Broncos’ 24-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

It appears that the Raiders want to bring him in for his second interview on Tuesday, and he will be the first person the Raiders interview for a second time not named Tony Sparano.

The Raiders gig is likely intriguing to Del Rio due to the young talent they have on defense, along with the location. The Broncos defensive coordinator was born in Castro Valley and went to high school in Hayward.

If Davis and Reggie McKenzie like what they hear on Tuesday, it could be a quick hire with Del Rio becoming the next coach of the Raiders.
