John DeFilippo to interview with Browns

The Oakland Raiders are continuing their search for a head coach, but it appears some of their current assistant coaches are drawing interest from other teams.

Reports surfaced that the Cleveland Browns are expected to interview Raiders quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

The Browns are looking for a new offensive coordinator after they parted ways with Kyle Shanahan amid reports that their relationship had disintegrated after just one season together.

It shouldn’t be too surprising that they Browns are interested in the Raiders’ young quarterbacks coach as they interviewed him last offseason for the same position, before giving it to Shanahan.

He also makes sense because he is from Ohio.

The Raiders likely want to hold on to DeFilippo due to his strong coaching skills and in order to keep continuity with their young franchise quarterback, Derek Carr.
