Raiders sign Dan Williams

The Raiders continued their free agency Wednesday morning by signing a couple more defensive players.

The Raiders reached to terms with defensive tackle Dan Williams early on Wednesday, and the team announced it later that afternoon.

Williams joins Oakland after a five-year stint with the Arizona Cardinals, where he played in 70 games with 40 starts. During that time, he totaled 116 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception and seven passes defensed.

The big run-stuffing defensive tackle played in a career-high 16 games (nine starts) last season, while recording a career-high 45 tackles.

The big 6-foot-3, 315-pound tackle was originally selected by Arizona in the first round (26th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Tennessee. While in Tennessee, he started 32-of-45 games for the Volunteers and recorded 160 tackles and seven sacks.
