Packers match Richardson's offer from Oakland

To not much of a surprise, the Oakland Raiders will miss out on safety Sean Richardson after his offer sheet was matched by the Green Bay Packers.

Reggie McKenzie and the Raiders signed the restricted free agent to an offer sheet last week, giving the Packers five days to match. As expected, they did just that.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the contract is for just one-year, $2.55 million.

The NFL rarely sees movement by restricted free agents due to the fact that teams don’t have the opportunity to overpay as much.

McKenzie and the Raiders front office will have to look elsewhere for safety depth after they released Tyvon Branch earlier this offseason.
